Bedstefars Rheinlænderpolka nr ½5

  • Dance of couples.
  • Chasse, polka
  • The dance is in 2 sections: a, b :
    • a: bar 1-4: chasse + go + go forth and back
    • b: polka around twice (or polka once and two steps twice around, see feet animation below)
    • a+b are continued to the rest of the music
All the different rheinlænder and fynbo tunes are danced the same way, so this dance does not mean a specific title of melody. (The dance may be used for changing partners, a mixer: a family rhinelender).

(English: Rhinelender polka)

  • Approximate animation of feet movement:
    • a:   Chasse + go + go, forward and back again
    • b1: Polka once around
    • b2: Two steps (= pivot) twice around

bar 1-2 chasse go go forward One chasse + go + go forward, turn ...
One chasse (bar 1): gent left foot step forward, right foot only up to the left, and left step forward; (bar 2) walk right foot, then left foot, to turn on.
Ladies use opposite feet.
bar 3-4 chasse go go back again ... and one chasse + go + go back again;
starting on gent: right foot
bar 1-2
repeated		 polka Polka around one turn
bar 5-6
polka or two step		 Polka around another turn (or two steps (= pivot) around 2 turns)

The dance is repeated as long as pleased.
